There have been a number of books written about the Ozarks and some of them have a direct reference to Howell County. Others will give you a good reference for the life and times of your ancestors. Here are a few titles. If you know of others, please let us know and we'll add them here.

There is a Howell County Discussion List. Its purpose is to facilitate the discussion of genealogy, history or other subjects pertaining to Howell County, Missouri. You can subscribe to the email version (you will get an individual email each time anyone posts to the list or the digest version (you will occasionally receive a list of new posts).
