Archie "Chick" Fair | Funeral services for Archie Benjamin “Chick” Fair, 90, West Plains, were Saturday, March 13, 2010, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Fair died Wednesday afternoon, March 10, 2010, at his home. He was born Jan. 23, 1920, at Willow Springs, Mo., to Ben and Docia Hight Fair. Mr. Fair was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II in the European Theatre of War. He had worked as a serviceman for Art’s Novelty and also owned and operated Chick’s Café. Mr. Fair loved to dance, play pool and do magic tricks for his family and friends. He is survived by his very special friend, Beryl Colvin of West Plains; one sister, Juanita Kirk of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; three brothers, John, Lawrence and Ted Fair; and two sisters, Hazel Fair Daniels and Helen Fair Mitchell, precede him in death. Burial was at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. |

Joshua Kinwerthey Farrar | Born in Steelville, Mo., May 1841, and died at his home in this city (Mountain View) March 3, 1923, age 82 years, from parents who came from England and settled, he grew to manhood in the town where he was born. In 1861, when the civil war came, he was one of the first to enlist and served four years in Co. D, Phelps Regiment, Mo. volunteers. At the age of 23 he was converted and joined the Presbyterian church, and had always remained a devout Christian, always in regular attendance until the last few years, which his declining years prevented. In 1865 he was married to Emily Brickey, who died years later. To this union were born five children, two of whom are still living. On the 8th day of March 1877, he was married to Louisa Elizabeth Duncan, and to this union were born thirteen children, nine of whom survive him. On October 17, 1900, this wife and mother passed on to the better world. On July 2, 1903, he was married again to Sarah Melissa (Gill) Smith (widow of James K. Polk Smith), who survives him. He is also survived by eleven children, fifty one grand children, sixteen great grand children, and five step children. Mr. Farrar, or "Uncle Josh" as he was known to almost everyone, had lived in and near Mountain View for the last 40 years and was one of our most prominent early citizens, being known and held in high esteem by nearly everyone for miles around. Rev. Gulley of this city preached the funeral, which was held at Pleasant Grove, and the remains were interred in that cemetery Monday afternoon. The Standard extends the sympathy of the community to the bereaved ones, in their loss. |
Louise Elizabeth McGoldrick Farris | Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Farris died at 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in National Health Care. She was born on May 25, 1918, in Cureall, Mo., to Albert and Nancy Wilson McGoldrick. On April 8, 1965, she was married to Raymond Gene Farris, who preceded her in death in 1975. Mrs. Farris had been a hairdresser since the age of 18 and was a member of the AmVets Post 98 Auxiliary. She is survived by her stepbrother, Charles Ward and wife, Marilyn, of West Plains; several nieces and nephews including Nancy Huggins of St. Louis, Jack McFarland of West Plains, Robert Soutier of Bridgeton, Mark Williams of Crestwood and Mike Rodgers of St. Louis; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Her parents, husband and three sisters precede her in death. |
Aaron Thomas Faulkner | Son of the late Gilbert and Ola Faulkner, was born on Aug. 19, 1917 at Birch Tree, Mo. And departed this life on May 29, 1969 at the age of 51 years, 9 months and 10 days, at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Mo. He was united in marriage to Olive Jane Wade on Aug. 1, 1939. To this union 9 children was born, 8 of whom are surviving. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, and his children. Helen, Charley, Marla, and Robbie of the home. Lillian French of Fort Collins, Colo., Maxine Lilly of Winona, Mo., Vivian Ward of Eminence, Mo., and Tom of the U.S. Navy; three brothers, Wesley and Clarence Faulkner of Bremerton, Wish., and John Faulkner of Deep Water, Mo.; 9 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Betty Jane Faulkner | Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Aaron Faulkner, was born March 7, 1947 and departed this life June 4, 1947 at the age of two months, 38 days. She leaves to mourn her loss, the father, mother and three sisters, Lilly Pearl, Ruth Maxine and Vivian Lucille; the grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charley Wade and G. A. Faulkner. Gilbert Aaron Faulkner | Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Faulkner was born June 15, 1883 near Salem, Mo., in Dent County and departed this life July 7, 1964 at his home near Birch Tree, Mo. He was 81 years and 22 days old. He was united in marriage to Ola Chandler April 11, 1914. To this union was born five children, four boys and one daughter. He was preceded in death by his wife and daughter. Surviving are one sister, Lottie Jenkins of Iowa. Four sons, Aaron Faulkner of Birch Tree, Mo., Wesley, Clarence, and John of Washington, 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews besides many friends. James Lee Faulkner | Son of Wesley and Irene Faulkner, was born April 29, 1954, at Douglas Converse Co WY, and departed this life in Missouri on January 3, 1977 as the result of a truck accident at the age of 22 years. He was united in marriage to Debra Wade on August 5, 1972 at Birch Tree, Missouri. To this union two children was born. John Lindsey Faulkner | - Born November 16, 1923 north of Birch Tree, Missouri and departed this life October 17, 1983 at Rapid City, Iowa, en route to his home town of Birch Tree at the age of 59 years, 11 months, and 16 days. He was married to Myrna Rosella Stacy September 5, 1953 and to this union was born 2 daughters and a son, Ruth Ann Richardson and Debbie Sue Trombley and a son, James Lee all of Salem, Missouri, his wife Myrna, 6 grandchildren, and his brother, Wesley of Birch Tree, Missouri all survive him. His father, mother, 1 sister, and 2 brothers preceded him in death. Graveside services were held Thursday, October 20, 1983 at 1 p.m. in the Berea Mennonite Cemetery at Birch Tree with the Reverend Johnnie Aiken officiating. Myrtle Irene Reeves Faulkner | Born May 25, 1921 at Montier, Mo., the daughter of Eldie Marion Reeves and Myrtle Ruth German Reeves and departed this life on May 14, 1987 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Wesley Faulkner on June 24, 1939 in Eminence, Mo., and to this union eight children were born. Two sons preceded her in death along with her husband; one brother, Raymond Reeves; her father, Eldie Reeves; and her step-father, Everett Rice. She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Myrtle Rice of Willow Care Nursing Home; one brother, E. M. Bud Reeves of O’Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Mae Miller and Dolly Sorenson of Wyoming; her children, Lillie Gates of Hartshorn, Mo., Alice Voyles, Wesley and Ed Faulkner of Mountain View, Willma Harris of Bremerton, Washington; and Sgt. Wesley Joseph Faulkner | - Son of Gilbert and Ola, Mae (Chandler) Faulkner was born March 15, 1915 at Kolar, Missouri, and passed away at his home in birch Tree on December 10, 1984. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Irene Reeves on June 24, 1939 and to this union eight children were born. LeRoy Elwood Faust | - Born July 16, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to Kenneth Elwood Faust and Lillian Sophia (Stigen) Riedel. After complications resulting from surgery, he passed away February 6, 2008 at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 64 years. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Faust; one brother David Faust and stepfather William Riedel, Sr. He is survived by his mother Lillian Riedel of Willow Springs, MO; two daughters Liane Scattone and Lisa (Henry) Faust both of Mays Landing, NJ; two brothers Colin Stigen of Baudette, MN and William Riedel and his wife Alma of Hinesville, GA; one sister Lillian "Doll" Cash of Mountain Grove, MO; five grandchildren Serena and Ethan Scattone, and Joshua, Breanna and John Henry, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends whom he considered his extended family. LeRoy also lived in Philadelphia before settling with his family in Mays Landing, NJ. After proudly serving in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga, he returned to Mays Landing, NJ where he lived until he retired to Mountain View, MO almost ten years ago. An active member of the VFW and a member of the First Baptist Church congregation, he also loved to fish and be outside but found his greatest pleasure in spending time with the family he cherished and the friends that became his second family. He was a giver of sound and respected advice and was never too busy to stop and lend an ear or a hand to someone in need. He was a gentle man with a giving heart and will be missed by everyone who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him. LeRoy was a faithful and loving son who made his mother his number one priority. Helen Virginia Sherman Fender | Born February 7, 1936 in Pylesville, MD the daughter of George Douglas Sherman and Sadie Heaton Sherman. She passed away May 23, 2007 in Houston, MO at the age of 71 years. She was united in marriage to Joseph C. Fender on July 20, 1961 in Churchville, MD. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sadie Sherman. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Fender, Birch Tree, MO; her children, Michael H. Burns, Mount Vernon, IN; Cindy L. After moving to Missouri, Helen was employed at St. Francis Hospital in the Medical Records Department. Derald Alan Ficken | Age 61, was born Jan. 18, 1944 at St. Ansgar, IA, the son of Albert and Marcella Elsie Norman Ficken. He died Nov. 17, 2005, at his home near Birch Tree, MO. He graduated high school on May 21, 1963. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a man who never met a stranger, and was always willing to give a helping hand. He loved hunting, fishing and his dogs. He taught everyone how to love and laugh at his practical jokes. Derald's grandchildren meant the world to him. He will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Daisy Louise Ficken of Birch Tree, MO; a son, Daniel Craig Ficken and wife, Valerie, of Alton, MO; a daughter, Kristine Amanda Wrinkles and husband, Jeff, of West Plains, MO; a step-son, Vance Allen Sisco and wife, Tammy, of Alton; and a god-daughter, Rebecca Lynn Brewer of West Plains; four brothers, Dennis Ficken and wife, Sandy of Columbia, MO; Kenny Ficken and wife, Pat of Springfield; Max Ficken and wife, Bertha, of West Plains; and Jimmy Ficken and wife, Jody of West Plains; two sisters, Colleen Justus and husband, John, of West Plains, and Carolyn Upton of Alabama; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Deanna Kay Finch | born Aug. 6, 1942, in West Plains, Mo., the daughter of Wayne and Aileen (Nicholson) Bradford. Aileen passed away when Kay was only 14 months old. Soon after, when Kathryn married Wayne, she became Kay’s mother for the remainder of her life. Kay departed this life on April 22, 2009 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her father and birth mother; one infant brother and one infant sister; one infant daughter; and two infant granddaughters. She leaves to mourn her husband, Bud of Birch Tree, Mo.; one daughter, Twila Dogoli and husband, Robert, of Senath, Mo.; two sons, Greg Finch of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Chris Finch and wife, Christy, of West Plains, Mo.; mother, Kathryn Bradford of Jacksonville, Ark.; two sisters, Janice Hawkins of Birch Tree, and Patricia Coen of Jacksonville, Ark.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Kay graduated from Birch Tree High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Charles “Bud” Edward Finch in Birch Tree, Mo., on Oct. 28, 1960. Kay worked as a bookkeeper for many years and most recently was an ER clerk at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mountain View. Kay had a love of music and was a church pianist for many years. Many young people have been blessed to have been taught by Kay. ELMER DALE FINCH | Of Birch Tree Shannon Co MO, was born Sep. 21, 1909, the son of John William FINCH & Myrtle CARSON. He passed away Jul. 21, 1993. He and his wife, Georgia Amelia Hannah, became the parents of Jimmy Dale, Charles Edward & Jessie Marie FINCH. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Christine Butler, and by his wife on 24 Dec 1990. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Dale FINCH, Jessie Marie ‘Sis’ BUTLER, and Charles Edward ‘Bud’ FINCH, their spouses and children. Interment was at Montier Cemetery, Montier, Shannon Co MO. |
BRUCE DALE FINCH - Born Aug. 29, 1961, the son of Jimmy Dale FINCH & Mabel SIMPSON. He passed away Mar. 24, 2001. He was the grandson of Elmer Dale FINCH & Georgia Amelia HANNAH, and Peter Andrew 'Andy' SIMPSON & Martha 'Ruth' HAYNES. He was preceded in death by his father on 25 Feb 1996 and his mother 25 Nov 2000. They are all interred at Montier Cemetery Shannon Co MO. He is survived by his sister, Lora Jean WACKER and her husband David, and nieces Anna Ruth & Julie WACKER. JIMMY DALE ‘JIM’ FINCH - Born Aug. 29, 1934; passed away Feb. 25, 1996. He was the son of Elmer ‘Dale’ FINCH & Georgia HANNAH. On Jun. 24, 1957 he married Martha ‘Mabel’ SIMPSON and to this union two children were born, Lora Jean and Bruce Dale. Jim served his country in the US Army in Korea at the rank of Sergeant. He worked for General Motors in St Louis and in Kentucky. For most of their married life he and Mabel lived in the St Louis area, relocating to Kentucky in later years, and then to Mountain View MO. He was buried at Montier Cemetery, Shannon Co MO, alongside his parents. He is survived by his wife Mabel, son Bruce & daughter Lora, other family & friends. MARTHA ‘MABEL’ SIMPSON FINCH - Born Dec. 6, 1934 at Wilderness Oregon Co MO, the daughter of Peter Andrew 'Andy' SIMPSON & Martha 'Ruth' HAYNES. She passed away 25 Nov 2000 at Mountain View Howell Co MO. She married Jimmy Dale FINCH on Jun. 24, 1957 at Hernando DeSoto Co MS, and to this union two children were born, Lora Jean and Bruce Dale. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers who died in infancy, brothers Garnett Erwin SIMPSON, Dewey Maxie SIMPSON, and James Venton SIMPSON, a niece, Christine BUTLER, and nephew James Forrest SIMPSON. James Norman Fisher | Age 97, West Plains - Formerly of Oregon Co MO - Mr. Fisher was born July 28, 1911, Oregon County, Mo., the son of the late Willard Wilson Fisher and Grace Floyd Fisher. He was married Nov. 23, 1931, in Alton, Mo., to Icil Velma Lasley, who preceded him in death Dec. 1, 2004. He is survived by two daughters, Esther Mae Scarlet and Grace Ann Sanders and husband, Bill; two sons, James Norman Fisher II and Ronald Lasley Fisher and wife, Betty; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Fisher, three brothers, Floyd Wilson, Donald Paul and Ralph Dolan; four sisters, Daisy Evelyn, Hazel Irene, Mary Louise, and Emma Gene; two grandchildren, and an angel baby named Faith. LILLIAN 'BEA' MCCARTY FISHER | Born September 26, 1926 at Van Buren, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (CHRONISTER) MCCARTY. She passed away December 19, 2007 at Springfield, MO at the age of 81 years. She was united in marriage to Herman Lee FISHER on September 6, 1942, and to this union, six children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Myrtle MCCARTY; one son-in-law, Frankie ALLEN; five step- brothers and two step-sisters. She is survived by her husband, Herman Lee FISHER of Winona, MO; three sons, Harold Lee FISHER and wife, Linda, of Alma, AR; Lonnie Ray FISHER and wife, Patricia, of Van Buren, AR; and Eddie Dean FISHER and wife, Delores, of McAlester, OK; three daughters, Geneva 'Sis' ALLEN of Mountain View, MO, Leona Marie MARTIN and husband, Samuel 'Andy', of Winona, MO and Shelia Renee JOHNSON and husband, Brett, of Fremont, MO; one step-brother; fifteen grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Bea was saved at a young age and loved attending church. She loved crocheting and her rocking chair. She also collected miniature bells. John Allen Fiske Jr. | Son of John Allen Fiske Sr. and Roberta A. Ackerman, was born in Hayden, Colorado, June 9, 1945 and passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the age of 63 years and 2 days. Johnny was united in marriage to Jeannie Clark October 14, 1966, making their union together 41 years. To their union four boys were born, Jim, David, Joe and John. In Johnny’s younger years, he was baptized in the Christian Church in Colorado; he and his family had been attending the Summersville Christian Church. He worked in the logging woods for many years with his brothers. He once was quoted while working in the woods, "Even Paul Bunyan would be proud of me." He loved being in the woods wherever he was, in Colorado or in Missouri. In the later years, he has drove a truck over the road, doing long distance hauling with his brothers and his sons. He never met a stranger and made many friends wherever he traveled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing music and working on his trucks. He loved spending time with his family and friends over a cup of coffee at home or in town at the local restaurant. He also was an avid reader, reading many Louis L’amour westerns, and his logging books. His favorite pastime was sitting at the head of the kitchen table looking over the hillside, watching for deer and other wild life at the creek bed. He like to tell the kids and grandkids what animals he had seen over the past few days. Johnny is preceded in death by his father, John, and his mother, Roberta Fiske; an infant sister, a sister-in-law, Nedria Fiske, an infant nephew, Donald Fiske Jr., and his mother-in-law, Maxine Clark. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; his sons, Jim and wife, Tammy; David and wife, Sally; John and wife, Becky; and son Joe, all of the Summersville area; his four brothers, Don and wife Helen, Tom and wife Cindy, Gene and wife Bev, and Jim and wife Pam, all of the Summersville area; and sister, Darlene and husband Steve, of Conway, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Christen Collins, James Herndon II, Danielle Terrill, Tabitha Fiske, Terry Fiske, TJ Fiske, Raymond Fiske, and Alex Fiske, three great-grandchildren, John Collins, Hannah Terrill, and Mahayla Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Mrs. Fite died at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009, at her home. She was born Oct. 8, 1952, at West Plains, Mo., to Leslie G. and Ereline Strickland Holloway. On February 18, 1972, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Billy Fite. Mrs. Fite was a librarian, having more than 200 hours of library science, had served as the director of the West Plains Public Library and had been a member of the Rotary Club. Mrs. Fite was of the Baptist faith, with her membership in the First Baptist Church of West Plains. She is survived by her husband, Billy Fite, of the family home; her daughter, Elizabeth Peterman, husband, Joshua, Fond Du Lac, Wisc.; one grandchild, Valerie Peterman; and her parents, Leslie and Ereline Holloway, West Plains, Mo. Her grandparents precede her in death. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Sunday evening, June 1, 2008, in Union Hospital. He was an accounts
receivable manager for Eastern Express, Inc. He was born Aug. 25, 1921,
in Iola, Ill., to Bryan S. Fitzgerald and Nina Fern Rogers. His wife,
Lorraine Hering Fitzgerald, preceded him in death in 2000. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bryan T. and Suse Ann Fitzgerald of Dayton, Ohio, and Dr. Gary A. and Sherry Fitzgerald of Terre Haute; a brother, James Fitzgerald and his wife, Dorothy, of Woodlawn, Ill.; a sister, Isabelle Steenbergen of Chillicothe, Ill.; four grandchildren, Brett Fitzgerald, Brooke Fitzgerald, Kristopher Fitzgerald and his wife, Amy, and Katie Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren, Austin Fitzgerald and Travis Hunter Wilbanks; and several nieces and nephews. Bryan was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. THELMA PAULINE HINES FOARD | Born June 24, 1918 at Bethel in Texas County, Missouri to her parents, Oscar Denton Hines and Dora Bilbrey Hines. She passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO, Monday, August 4, 2008 making her age 90 years, 1 month, and 10 days. Thelma was united in marriage to James Foard, June 18, 1938, and to their union two children were born, Bob D. Foard of Van Buren, Missouri and Sharron K. Foard Fowler of St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed her family and spent much time tending to their well being. She enjoyed family get togethers and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren. She loved them all unconditionally. Her personal time was spent idolizing Elvis, whose music she enjoyed for at least 50 years. She was a true fan. After her husband retired, they took many cruises to many exotic locations. Preceding her in death are her father, mother, husband and two brothers. Surviving are her two children, one grandson, two granddaughters, two sisters, Lola Cooley and Eileen Pack, one brother, Dale Hines. Services were held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Bradford Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Young. Interment was in Summersville City Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home. |

REV. MELVIN D. FORD | Age 82, Springfield Greene Co MO - Former long-time resident of West Plains - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with Rev. Lester Bradford officiating. Rev. Ford died at 8 p.m. Monday at St John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born Mar. 10, 1897 at West Plains, the son of George W. Ford and Tabitha Key Ford. He had spent his entire life in this area until moving to Springfield a few years ago. On Aug. 20, 1935, he was married to Cora Jane Young at Salem Fulton Co AR. In 1950 he was ordained as a Baptist Minister and was instrumental in the organization of the Friendship Baptist Church near West Plains, which he pastored for a number of years. He also pastored for several years at the Lost Camp Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield MO. Rev. Ford served as police judge for the city of West Plains for a number of years. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Fourth Company Division Battalion at Camp Logan TX. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at West Plains and of the Last Man's Club of West Plains. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Ford, Springfield; three children, Mrs. Loretta Womack, Chesterfield MO; Herbert Ford, St Louis MO and Don Ford, Springfield MO; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. |
Neva Jane Cupp Forrester | Age 48, West Plains MO - Ded Feb. 10, 2008, in Fulton County Hospital, Salem, AR. She was born April 20, 1959, in West Plains, MO, to Gene and Jane Moore Cupp. She was employed at West Vue, having just received her 10-year service pin. Mrs. Forrester was a NASCAR fan and especially liked Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was of the Baptist faith with her membership in New Hope Baptist Church for two years. Robert E. Foster | Born December 1, 1935 in Concord, New Hampshire to Fredrick A. and Edna (Cofrin) Foster. He died on April 12, 2008 at his home in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 72 years. Robert married E. Lynette Foster on May 29, 1965 in Concord, New Hampshire, and to this union three children were born. Robert and Lynette were reunited on May 29, 1999 in Mountain View. At the age of 15, Robert ran away and joined the Army. He was sent home a few months later when the authorities discovered his age. He became a truck driver and continued that career for 41 ½ years until an illness distorted his vision. Robert raised three dedicated children and was very proud of them. He battled cancer for four years and it finally got the best of him. God has a plan. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lynette, of the home; one daughter, Melissa Butler of Hayti, Missouri; two sons, Kyle Foster of Mountain View, Missouri and Robert Foster, Jr. of Birch Tree, Missouri; grandchildren, Lacey Foster of Mountain View, Codey Foster and Colten Foster of Birch Tree, Missouri. ELDON RAY FOULK | Born May 11, 1926, in Smithfield IL, the son of Lester FOULK and Alta Belle (FRAMPTON) FOULK. He went to be with his Savior on May 16, 1995, at his home. On July 17, 1944, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Marie CALHOUN. To this union five children were born: Sharon Marie THOMAS, Marlana Rose DEFIORE, and Lester Eldon FOULK, all of Birch Tree MO; David Lynn FOULK of Florissant MO; and Jean Anne ASBERRY of West Plains MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leslie and Donald FOULK, and one sister, Julia HOWARTER. Eldon leave his wife, Myrtle, of the home in Birch Tree MO; his five children and their spouses: Sharon and Donald THOMAS, Sr., Marlana and Louis DEFIORE; Lester and Kimberly (YOUNT) FOULK; David and Pamela (SEATON) FOULK; and Jean and James ASBERRY; twelve grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell FOULK of Macomb IL; and Ralph FOULK of Laura IL; and three sisters, Evelyn MITCHELL and Daisy HAGGERTY, both of Ellisville IL; and Edna FORD of Smithfield IL. After graduation from the Cuba Community High School, Eldon was inducted into the United States Army, taking his basic training at Camp Roberts, CA. He was sent to the Pacific Theatre and fought on Leyte and Luzon in the Philippines with the renowned 637th Tank Destroyer Battalion. After his unit was demobilized he was sent with the first occupational troops to Japan. After his military service, Eldon farmed first in Illinois and then in Birch Tree MO. Eldon was a life-long Christian and faithful attendant at the Birch Tree First United Methodist Church. His loving family and his church family supported him during his final illness. Funeral services were held May 18, 1995, at the First United Methodist Church in Birch Tree, with Rev. Otto FOUST officiating. She enjoyed singing and spending time with her grandchildren and family gatherings. Also, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Gospel Hill Church of Christ. Mrs. Fox enjoyed bowling, traveling and was a member of the Moody Helping Hands Club. She was of the Baptist faith. Virginia E. Riley Fox | Age 84, West Plains MO Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Fox passed away 11:34 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Brooke Haven Healthcare. She was born June 27, 1923, in Howell County, MO to Carl W. Riley and Lalla Hudlow Riley. She graduated from West Plains High School in 1941, and each month the remaining classmates would get together having lunch and visiting. On March 23, 1946, she was married in Howell County Mo., to Allen “Dall” Fox, and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Fox taught at the Vienna School, a one-room school, and substituted for the South Fork and Fair View School Systems. She had been active in the Crider Community for years having served as a 4-H group leader for the Union Grove Jolly Workers. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Union Grove Church having served her church as Sunday school superintendent, secretary/treasurer, and would help organize the Vacation Bible Schools and Christmas plays. She is survived by her husband, Allen “Dall” Fox, West Plains; two daughters, Rita Stewart, husband, Bill, Pottersville, Mo., and Linda Sanders, West Plains; four grandchildren, Josh Stewart, wife, Amy, Dora, Mo., Nathan Sanders, Richland, Mo., Tiffany Atkinson, West Plains, and Courtney Sanders, fiance, Kaleb Smith, Alliance, Neb.; three great-grandchildren, Jake and Sy Stewart, Dora, Mo., and Addison “Addie” Sanders, West Plains; one sister, Berneice Roberts, Pottersville, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Ollie Fox, West Plains, Geneva Fox, Troy, Ill., and Earnestine Fox, Lodi, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Francis went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in Brooke Haven Healthcare. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in West Plains to Beryl Lee and Madeline Wright Francis. On June 8, 1946, he was married at Kansas City, Kan., to June Woods. Mr. Francis was owner and operator of Phillips 66 Service Station on East Main for a number of years. He also managed South Howell County Ambulance before his retirement in 1988. He did clock and watch repair, and most recently drove for area car lots and Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. He was a lifetime member and elder of First Congregational Methodist Church in West Plains. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Francis, of the family home; one son, Joe Francis, wife, Shirlee, Jacksonville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Trichia Thomas, husband, Chuck, Jacksonville, Ark., and Robert Francis, Little Rock, Ark.; and three great-grandchildren, Chase, Hannah and Claire Thomas. Mr. Frazee was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Start, county school board, and helped organize the Senior Housing units for Willow Springs. He was a weatherman for 35 years, a barber for 45 years, and for 15 years was summer youth director for Willow Springs. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Frazee of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Floralle Smotherman, Springfield MO and Mrs. Ellen Henderson, Deerfield FL; four brothers, DeRoy and Herbert Frazee, Willow Springs, Otto and Jim Frazee, St Louis MO; five sisters, Mrs. Trixie Hallett, Willow Springs, Mrs. Bessie Melber, Verdie Karlack, Pearl Deller and Ola LaRose, all of St Louis, and two grandchildren. The family requested donations be made to the Trinity Baptist Church to be used to erect a new sign. Lois Juanita Kenslow Frazier | Age 78, West Plains - Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Frazier died at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at her home. She was born on April 12, 1929, in Howell County, Mo., to Fred Raymond and Oma Leatha Scott Kenslow. On Sept. 16, 1945, she was married at Norman, Okla., to Mearle Dwayne Frazier, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2007. Before her retirement, Mrs. Frazier was employed at the Gainesville Post Office. She enjoyed quilting, was part owner of The Golden Thimble and was a volunteer at Ozarks Medical Center. Mrs. Frazier was a member of the Curry Street Church of Christ. She is survived by two children, Gary Frazier of Springfield, Mo., and Christy Spivey of West Plains, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Frazier Dakin, Kody Frazier and wife, Whitney and Courtney Spivey; two great-grandchildren, Theron Dakin and Taidyn Frazier; her aunt, Effie Harris of West Plains and many nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; one son, Michael Frazier; one brother, Otis Kenslow and one sister, Margaret Kenslow, precede her in death. Burial was held at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. ROBERT E. ‘BILL’ FRAUENFELDER | Born November 7, 1931 at Verdon NE, the son of Clarence and Frances (ELAM) FRAUENFELDER and passed away February 15, 2007 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 75 years. He was united in marriage to Audrey Jean MAXVILL on July 28, 1951 at Licking MO and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jean on January 25, 2001 and his two sisters, Peggy SPACEK and Judy STADNYCK. He is survived by one son, Rob FRAUENFELDER and wife Marie of Mountain View MO; two daughters, Linda YANCEY and husband Robert of Sorento IL, and Victoria LANDIS and husband John CASE of Wichita KS; and his five grandchildren Sarah, Miranda, David, Kara and Krista. Bill enjoyed hunting and trap shooting. One of his greatest enjoyments was to travel to the gun shows around the country with his good friend Leonard. Bill was a member of the Big Piney Sportsman Club. He had owned and operated the Pine Crest Machine and Gun Shop in Mountain View since 1962. In 1975 he and Jean moved to Ozark MO, where he opened a business manufacturing 22 caliber camp guns, and later went into manufacturing muzzle loading rifles. They returned to the Mountain View area in 1978 where he continued his machine and gun shop. Bill's passion was the traditional style muzzle loading rifle and he was known for the very fine rifle he made. He was known in this area and around the country for his gunsmith work. Everyone knew that if it involved a gun, Bill could fix it. As a machinist, he was the one people called on to fix their problems. Bill was known as an individual who would never say an unkind word about anyone. He was a friend to everyone that knew him. Bill will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Loren D. Frazier | Age 64, passed away on Dec. 17, 2008, at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on Feb. 11, 1944, in Valley Park, Mo., to Everett Frazier and Bessie (Woolsey) Frazier. Loren enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1962. He received a National Defense Award for enlisting in the time of war. Loren honorably served his country for four years. On Jan. 7, 1986, he married Eileen J. Goree in Perryton, Texas. They owned and operated Frazier Trucking. Loren and Eileen spent several years on the truck traveling together. He was recently employed by Freedom Oilfield Services. Loren enjoyed gardening, reading and the study of Scriptures. Loren was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon Frazier. He is survived by his wife, Eileen of Opal, Wyo., and children, Jack Frazier, Booneville, Ark.; Judy Frazier-Martin, Rose Hill, Kan.; Dawn Goree, Great Bend, Kan; John Frazier, Mountain View, Mo.; Monty (Scooter) Goree Jr., Liberal, Kan., and Cindy Tabor, Mountain View, Mo. Loren had 19 grandchildren and a soon to be great-grandson. He is also survived by his sister, Fonda Thompson, Mountain View, Mo., and a brother, Doren Frazier, Cocoa Beach, Fla. Mearle Dwayne Frazier | Age 81, West Plains - Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Frazier died 4:10 a.m. today, Monday, June 4, 2007, at his home. He was born to Charles Edward and Lois Morrison Frazier on Oct. 24, 1925, at Dawt, Mo., across from Dawt Mill. He graduated from Bakersfield High School with the class of 1944, and on Sept. 16, 1945, was married at Norman, Okla., to Lois Juanita Kenslow. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He resided in Gainesville, Mo., before moving to the West Plains area. Mr. Frazier contributed to the community since 1955. Always a visionary, Mearle gave greatly to the city through his work as a member of the City Planning Commission, was well as through his personal endeavors to improve the community. Mearle was the driving force behind countless projects in the West Plains area including the Wayhaven, Meadow Vista and Morrison Subdivisions, development of the Green Way, a partner in the original Holiday Inn, and donated land to Missouri State University-West Plains. He worked with over 25 partners and city fathers in attracting business to the community and in developing the region. Mr. Frazier was a member of Curry Street Church of Christ. Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife, Lois Frazier, of the family home; two children, Gary Frazier, Springfield, Mo., and Christy Spivey, husband, Carl, West Plains; three grandchildren, Jennifer Frazier, Kody Frazier and Courtney Spivey; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Douglas Frazier, wife, Gloria, West Plains; two aunts, Omega Watts, Tucson, Ariz., and Lucy Tackitt, Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Helen Orene Freeman | 84, of Willow Springs, Mo., passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, Mo. She was born on Sept. 10, 1924, in Seymour, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Gladys (Cardwell) Swearengin. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos Freeman Sr.; one grandson, Joseph Matthew Doria; one brother and one sister. She is survived by her children, Amos and Rita Freeman of Sullivan, Mo., Alice and Steve Zimmer of Ozark, Mo., David and Bonnie Doria of Drury, Mo., Wanda and Bob Ramsey of the state of Washington and Clifford and Roxanne Wake of Theodosia, Mo.; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Marwyn Freeman | Age 68, Pomona - Graveside services were held on October 30, 2002 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains, Mo. Evangalist Lynn Hixon officiating. Pop died at Ozark Medical Center October 24, 2002 at 5:45pm. He was born September 6, 1934 in Jasper County Iowa to William and Ethel Perin Freeman. He received his education in the schools of Baxter and Exline Iowa and on April 21, 1956 was married to Ruthie Spilman in Ottumwa Iowa. Pop was a farmer while in Iowa nd after moving to Missouri worked for A.R. SChaller construction Company laying water and sewer lines in Missouri and Kansas. He then went to work for the City of West Plains as a backhoe operator for the Street Department and Water and Sewer Department. For 12 years or so Pop was the only backhoe operator to open graves at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Ruthie, one daughter Virginia ("Sam") Gentry and husband Jerry. One grandson Tim Gentry and wife Carrie, two step grandsons, Nick and Shaun Gentry. Three sister in laws, Florence Freeman, Jane Hargrove and husband Jim, and Thelma Spilman, several neices and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell (Cobb) Freeman and Harold Freeman. Pop's is the only grave that has been opened without a fee in the history of the cemetery. Larry Coffman and the rest of the cemetery crew donated all their time and services in honor of him. |
Myrtle Frances Ballinger Freeman | Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Evangelist Arvil Hill officiating. Mrs. Freeman was born June 11, 1917, near Dora MO to William and Mary Lakey Ballinger. She entered into eternal rest Nov. 20, 2008. On Nov. 6, 1936, she was married in West Plains to Earl 'Buck' Freeman. Mrs. Freeman was a Christian, and she enjoyed listening to gospel music. For many years Mrs. Freeman worked at the International Shoe Factory. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was avid about quilting and crossword puzzles. She is survived by two children, Bill Freeman, Sr., wife, Ruby, and Shirley Vining, husband, John; two grandchildren, Terry Vining, wife, Patti, and Bill Freeman, Jr., fiancee, Karen Carter; one sister, Mabel Trail; one sister-in-law, Ruby Ballinger; one brother-in-law, Harry Freeman, wife, Betty; three step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains. |
Marjorie V. Vaninger Fris | Longtime resident of Willow Springs, went with the Lord on her birthday Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, while at St. John’s Mercy due to complications after removing a brain tumor. She came to be in this world on Dec. 16, 1943, in Highland, Ill., to Athwell and Norene Vaninger of Trenton, Ill. She was 65 years old. Margie went to elementary school in Summerfield, Ill., and high school in Lebonon, Ill. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Home Economics from the University of Illinois. She later completed a BS in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State University. She was introduced to her husband, Frederick R. Fris, by her college roommate, Fred’s sister, and Margie and Fred were married on Jan. 21, 1967. They were blessed with four children, Jennifer, Carrie, Bart and Gabe. Margie taught first and third grades at Willow Springs Elementary School, and retired in 2005. Margie was a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress. Her passion was quilting and playing with her wonderful grandsons. She stayed busy all day long with quilting, sewing, taking pictures, gardening and spending time with her husband. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and beautiful friend. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs. She will truly be missed, but loved forever. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Athwell and Norene, and her daughter Carrie. She is survived by her husband Fred; daughter Jennifer, son Bartholomew and his wife, Lysa, of Brownwood, Texas, and son Gabriel and his wife, Karly, of Mtn. Grove, Mo., and her two grandsons, Jaxon and Deacon. Her brother, Robert Vaninger, of Trenton, Ill., and her sister, Beverly Davenport and husband, Rick, of Edmonds, Wash., further survive. Friends are invited for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 19, with the recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. in Willow Funeral Home, 106 E. Third St., Willow Springs. BILL ELBY FRYE | Born August 4, 1913 to Samuel Spencer Frye and Levina Anne (Richardson) Frye in Oakside, Missouri. He passed away peacefully June 13, 2006 at West Plains, Missouri at the age of 92 years and 10 months. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Noble Frye, Lloyd Frye, Lee Frye and Edd Frye and two sisters Loree Frye Harsh and Wanda Frye Samuelson. He is survived by his two daughters Billie Frye Thurman and husband Okie of Springfield, Missouri and Patricia Frye of Springfield, Missouri; three step-daughters Donna Frye Lietke and husband Bob of Mountain View, Missouri; Beverly Frye Greig of Springfield, Missouri; Sandy Frye McClenahan and husband Terry of Coxs Creek, Kentucky and one stepson Larry Dean Frye and wife Maryann of Republic, Missouri; one sister Babe Culpepper of Mountain View, Missouri; one granddaughter Mindy Thurman Noel and husband Mark of Springfield, Missouri and one great granddaughter Daryan Noel. Bill served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1935 until 1936. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1941. Bill worked as a forklift operator at McVickers Sawmill in Pinecrest and retired after 30 years. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Missouri. He loved to help his friends by taking them to the doctor or wherever they needed to go. Bill was a wonderful father, stepfather, grandfather and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services were held Friday, June 16, 2006 at Oakside Cemetery in Oakside, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. with Greg Richardson officiating. CHESTER VERNON FRYE | Born on November 16, 1932 in Hot Springs AR to Vernon Chester and Dessie (HICKS) FRYE. He passed away on August 13, 2005 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains MO at the age of 72. He was married to Frankie ALLEN for 21 years. During this marriage they raised three children, Susan, Lloyd and Larry. Chester was later married to Fern GRIFFIN. During this marriage he was blessed with six stepchildren. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was also a police office for the city of Mountain View, serving as Chief of Police. He was also a truck driver for many years. His most recent job was with Brown’s Small Engines in Mountain View. Chester is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd FRYE. He is survived by his wife, Fern FRYE; two sons, Lloyd FRYE and wife, Alice, Lebanon MO; and Larry FRYE, Belleville IL; one brother, Fred FRYE and wife Christina, Tucson AZ; three sisters, Kathy CORNELIUS, Doris MITCHELL and husband Bill, and Elaine FRYE, all of Tucson AZ; one brother-in-law, Jerry GRIFFIN; one sister-in-law, Gwen GRIFFEN; three stepsons, Mike ALLEN and wife Donna; Raymond ALLEN and wife Bonita; all of Mountain View MO; and Kevin ALLEN of Danville AR; four stepdaughters, Susan ESLINGER and husband George; Judy PETERSON and husband Bill; Evelyn SCHARFF, all of Mountain View MO; Debbie CHRISTOPHER; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. David Edly Frye | Age 92, son of Samuel Spencer and Lavinia Anne Richardson Frye, was born May 25, 19112, near Oakside. He died Oct. 15, 2004, at Mountain View Healthcare in Mountain View, where he was a resident for the last 13 months. He grew up in the Oakside community. He married Pauline Smotherman Nov. 13, 1941. They had one son and lived in the Summersville area before moving to Mountain View in 1994. Mr. Frye farmed and did sawmill work in his early years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Noble, Lloyd, Lee and a twin who died at birth; and one sister, Leree Harsh. Surviving are his wife of Mountain View Healthcare; son, Archie Frye of Spring Hill, La.; stepdaughter, Jean Helton of Summersville; two sisters, Irene "Babe" Culpepper of Mountain View and Wanda Samuelson of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Bill Frye of Mountain View; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 14-great-great-grandchildren. BURSE FUGATE | Age 81, Pomona - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church at Pomona with Rev. Keith Cunningham officiating. Mr. Fugate was dead on arrival Sunday at 5:15 a.m. at West Plains Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1898 at East Prairie, the son of the late John and Myrtle Hurley Fugate. He had been a member of the Christian Church for the past nine years with his membership being in the First Christian Church at Pomona. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors include two sisters and two brothers, Mabel and Grace Fugate of the home at Pomona; Clinton and Bert Fugate, also of Pomona; four nieces and three nephews; Mrs. Darlene Head, Phoenix AZ; Mrs. Joyce Nielsen, Pomona; Mrs. Pat Caplinger and Mrs. Donna McFarland, West Plains; Royce Fugate, Jefferson City; Elroy White, Willow Springs; Jack Fugate, Pomona; 15 great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces and nephews. His parents, one sistser and two brothers preceded him in death. Interment will be in Mackey Cemetery at Pomona under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
Margaret Eidson Fugate | Age 94, a resident of West Plains, Mo., for the past two years and formerly of Overland Park, Kan., were held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in White Church, Mo., under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Fugate died at 1:24 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in Brooke Haven HealthCare. She was born Aug. 1, 1913, at Pomona, Mo., to George Washington and Marcella Dunn Eidson. She received her elementary education at the Modrell School, graduated from the Willow Springs High School with the class 1931, attended Southwest Missouri State College receiving her teacher's certificate and then she taught at Modrell, Dowling and Olden Schools in this area. On Oct. 20, 1934, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Charles "Ted" Fugate, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1975. She and her husband, Charles "Ted," moved to the Kansas City area in 1943 where Margaret worked as a receptionist at City Bond and Mortgage. She retired in 1978, then went back to work at Woolf Brothers Clothing Store and retired again in 1988. Mrs. Fugate was a long-time member of the American Business Women's Association, the Order of Elks Auxiliary and the Rockhurst College Mothers Circle. She was an avid bridge player, playing in five different bridge clubs until the age of 92. Mrs. Fugate was a member of Cure of Ars Catholic Church. Mrs. Fugate is survived by her son, Royce Fugate and wife, Rita, of West Plains, Mo.; grandson, Charles Fugate of Overland Park, Kan.; and many cousins and friends. Her parents and husband precede her in death. Burial was at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Nova Agnes Bradford Fugate | Long-time resident of Willow Springs - Passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 18, 2009, while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs due to natural causes. Born Nov. 27, 1918, to Jim and Pearl (Elmore) Bradford in Clear Springs, Mo., she was 90 years old. Nova was united in marriage to Bert Fugate on Sept. 21, 1937. To this union a son, Jack, was born a year later. Throughout her life, Nova operated several restaurants in the Willow Springs area and was especially well known for her delicious 'Nova’s homemade pies.' She had many enjoyments in her life, which included sewing and cooking. However, she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. It was said that she always felt better when they were around. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Nova was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jack, on Dec. 21, 1991; and by her husband, Bert, on Oct. 24, 1993. She is further predeceased by three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her grandson, Rick Fugate and his wife Missy of Willow Springs and their children, Dakota and Jordyn Fugate. Two sisters further survive. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Mackey Cemetery, located on Highway N in Pomona with Pastor Emmett Bradford officiating. Mrs. Fugate will lie in state on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Willow Funeral home. No formal visitation will be held per the family’s request. Kimberly Sue McGath Fuller | Born on June 25, 1971 to her parents, Rollie J. and Catherine McGath. She passed away on December 30, 2005 at the age of 34 years. She was united in marriage to Edward Price Fuller on September 1, 1990. To this union six children were born, Bryan, Kevin, Teona, Kathrina, Cassandra and Brianna. Kimberly was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Willis Fuller; her father, Rollie McGrath; her maternal grandmother, Naomi Shepherd; her aunt, Patricia Ledgerwood, and many other family members. She is survived by her husband, Edward Fuller; her five children; her maternal grandfather, Leonard Shepherd; her mother, Catherine McGath; many cousins and numerous family members in her husband's family, and many friends. She was a loving and caring mother and wife. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. |
Louise Ward Futrell | Age 95, West Plains MO - Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Reverend Clarence Burton officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. She was born the daughter of the late Herbert L. Easton and Bertha Mae Soots Easton on Jan. 1, 1913, in Hutton Valley, Mo., and died Nov. 2, 2008, in West Plains, Mo. She was united in marriage to Vern Ward, who preceded her in death. She later married Edgar Futrell, who also preceded her in death. She attended the Antioch Christian Church, Pomona, Mo. She graduated from Willow Springs High School, then later attended Drury College in Springfield, Mo., where she earned her teaching degree. She taught for over 33 years in the Howell County area. She was awarded a citation for Outstanding Leadership in Elementary and Secondary Education of America. She was preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; two brothers, John and Buster Easton; and an infant sister. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Willow Springs Scholarship Fund and can be left at the funeral home. Family visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
