- Two boys were coasting down the long hill on bicycles in front of the post

which Vandivar was riding, knocked down, and his
skull fractured. He died two hours later without regaining consciousness.
Robinson was 69 years old. Robinson and his daughter, Mrs. Josie Taffer of Cureall, went to
visit at the home of the latter's son, Walter Taffer.
The death of Mr. Robinson cast a great gloom over the family. His wife was
notified and came immediately from Cureall. Besides

In 1912, he married Ethel Davis of Winona, Missouri.
To this marriage three children were born: Davis Francis of
Eminence, Oley Francis Jr. of St. James, and Allie Rose, deceased.
After his wife, Ethel, died in 1921, he married Bess Keathley
in 1923, and they raised one daughter, Mildred Keathley
Hensley, deceased.
He is survived by his two sons, Davis and Oley Jr.; one
daughter-in-law, Thelma; three children, Davis Jr. and wife, Joan Roush, of
West Plains; Linda Pat Hensley of St. Louis, and Kris Hensley of Boehringer and husband, Boe, of

They lived in many places around Howell, Shannon and Carter Counties, working
the timber from the land. 'Dad O', a nickname he acquired by his first

grandchildren and family. He gave so much happiness and shared so much
kindness.
Many good memories surrounding his life will be cherished forever, not only by his family, but

services for Thelma June Roush, 86, West Plains, were Friday, Dec. 11, 2009,
at the New Eminence Cemetery, Eminence, Mo., under the direction of
Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Roush died at
10:15 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Brooke Haven HealthCare. She was born
June 8, 1923, at Mountain View, Mo., to John E. and Dolly Minor Epperson. On

Sr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2008. Mrs. Roush was a member of

part of a large family in a tough but loving household. While a little girl,
she was badly burned by a pan of mashed potatoes. She carried her scars,
physically and mentally, with grace and dignity, never complaining, and
always in motion at work or play. Thelma could play a “mean,” but fair game
of bridge, pitch or cribbage. Thelma could out fish most of us; she did so
many things so well. She was very active and supportive in her church and
community. She helped a whole lot of folks in and around Eminence. With the
patience of Job, she served as caretaker for some 30 years having sole
responsibility for her husband, father-in-law and brother-in-law. Thelma paid
her dues daily for her God and others. She surely found grace in the eyes of
her Lord. She is survived by her son, Davis F. Roush Jr., wife, Joan, of West
Plains; three grandchildren, Rick Roush, wife, Donna, Kelli Killen, husband,
Matthew and Dr. Scott Roush, wife, Melissa; six great-grandchildren, Heather

husband; one great-granddaughter, Shelby Roush; two brothers, Bill Epperson
and J. C. Epperson; and three sisters, Luedith
Ferguson, Thela Graves and Betty Webb, precede her
